Pergolesi: Stabat Mater

Green-Wood Cemetery / New York / Music

Andrew Ousley is the creator and curator of two of New York’s most fascinating concert series: the Crypt Sessions and the Angel’s Share. Both take place underground, the former at Harlem’s Church of the Intercession, the latter in Brooklyn, in the catacombs of the Green-Wood Cemetery. This program, performed by the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, ends the Brooklyn season with three pieces of almost ecstatic pain and questioning. Be warned, tickets go fast. Green-Wood only seats 100. —L.J.

Also on the program: Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings; Arvo Pärt’s Fratres.
