DESCRIPTION:Apr 10-19\, 2026\nMore mime\, faster tempos\, striking changes
in both the mad scene and the ending—these are among the differences you
will see in Pacific Northwest Ballet’s acclaimed production of Giselle\
, which it premiered in 2011. Company director Peter Boal\, advised by the
dance historians Doug Fullington and Marian Smith\, drew from notations o
f the ballet made in the years 1899 to 1903 in St. Petersburg. The goal wa
s to give this Giselle a narrative arc that’s closer to the 19th-century
original—and more coherent. The production won raves. And in 2014\, it
also received new costumes and sets designed by Jérôme Kaplan.
