A member of the Wiener Werkstätte, the Austrian designer Otto Prutscher (1880–1949) was taught by the great Josef Hoffmann and the painter Franz Matsch at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. Untiring and ambitious, his known work includes 50 buildings, 170 interiors, 300 interior designs, and 200 items of furniture. On the 70th anniversary of his death, the museum dedicates a solo show to the energetic man who helped develop Viennese modernism. The exhibition includes 139 objects. —E.C.
