The National Archaeological Museum in Athens, home to 11,000 exhibits, has recently opened up its virtual doors. The museum’s collection spans centuries—from the Neolithic period to the Roman, Hellenistic, and Egyptian periods—and showcases works that have been excavated from tombstones, necropolises, and sanctuaries over thousands of years. Toggling through the website, you can wander on different floors of the museum’s halls. It’s a good place to reflect on antiquity, and wonder what got us here. —E.C.
