Old Vic: In Camera—A Christmas Carol

Old Vic Theatre / London / Stage

“Marley was dead …” So begins the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, his haunted night, and its immortal message. Jack Thorne’s stage adaptation of the Dickens classic, which premiered to raves at the Old Vic in 2017, is A Christmas Carol with a communal embrace. Handbells, clog dancing, and carols, psychologically audacious, the production is immersive and inclusive. This year, Andrew Lincoln stars as Scrooge, following in the footsteps of Rhys Ifans (2017) and Stephen Tompkinson (2018), and Paterson Joseph (2019). There are 16 live performances, with 80,000 tickets available throughout the run from £10–£65 (currency exchange rates apply). All ticket prices offer the same view, and audiences only need to buy one ticket to watch with a group on the same screen. —L.J.
