Can art be created with light, water, and air temperature? Yes, if the artist is Olafur Eliasson, who orchestrates these ephemeral elements into sculptures and large-scale installations. Eliasson’s 2003 exhibition, “The Weather Project,” drew more than two million people to the Tate Modern. Now he’s back with a retrospective of 40 works from the last three decades. Looking forward, Eliasson’s been commissioned to light up Paris’s Arc de Triomphe—damaged last year during the Yellow Vest protests—ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games. —J.V.
