 has built into a keen force in collectible design\, is presenting two exhi
 bitions during this year’s Salone del Mobile. At the Depot on Viale Lanc
 etti\, “Grand Hotel” turns the vast warehouse into an imagined hotel\,
  with rooms designed by David/Nicolas\, Allegra Hicks\, and Filippo Carand
 ini\, and graced with hand-painted de Gournay wallcoverings\, crochet-cove
 red furniture\, and new works by designers who include Bethan Laura Wood a
 nd Andrea Mancuso. At Via della Spiga\, “La Casa Magica\,” curated by 
 Valentina Ciuffi with set design by Space Caviar\, is more unsettling: a c
 hrome bed frame twists out of shape\, a mirror fractures across the wall\,
  and familiar domestic objects made strange.
