The Swiss artist Nicolas Party is known for portraits, landscapes and still lifes that merge alien strangeness with childlike simplicity. Recently, he’s switched from pastels on canvas to oil paint and pastels on copper. In this show, triptychs of trees and clouds displayed together convey a powerful message about the impending climate crisis. Monet’s 1896 paintings of flood waters at Giverny meet J. G. Ballard’s novel The Drowned World. —E.C.
