This quiet yet powerful drama follows the story of Autumn, a 17-year-old girl from central Pennsylvania who is struggling to get an abortion. Though Autumn’s objective is straightforward, the path to it is full of twists and turns. She is underage and must have parental consent. She has no money, no resources, and no emotional support. And yet, silent and stoic, Autumn’s determination rings as heroic. She sets off from Pennsylvania to New York, where she encounters all sorts of hurdles in her fight to take control of her destiny. —E.C.
