This two-part festival premiered on September 30 and October 1, 2020, and is now available on American Ballet Theatre’s YouTube channel. Eight ABT dancers have each made a short film that addresses life during the pandemic. The dancers in the films are, of course, members of ABT. Alexandre Hammoudi creates a pas de deux of long-distance longing. Eric Tamm dances a garden into life. Claire Davison creates a magic-realist silent movie that gives us a dollhouse view of an apartment building and its residents—wonderful! The ABT ballerina Misty Copeland talks to the filmmakers after each set of shorts, to find out more about the process of moving from stage to celluloid. —L.J.
