DESCRIPTION:Jul 29 - Aug 3\, 2026\nMoviegoers everywhere are flocking to Th
e Odyssey\, Christopher Nolan’s latest cinematic behemoth. For those una
ble to snag 70-mm. IMAX tickets—or maybe you’re just fatigued by the m
ythological hype—MoMA has the perfect antidote (and a quieter one at tha
t). Drawn from the museum’s collection\, these silent films offer a snap
shot of Pre-Code cinema\, shown in the museum’s theater for the first ti
 me. A newly restored cut of A Dog’s Life/Shoulder Arms (1918) showcases
Charlie Chaplin’s timeless physical charm\, while a MoMA print of Ernst
Lubitsch’s The Student Prince resurfaces as the only remaining copy sinc
e it premiered in 1927. Accompanying three world premieres and four Americ
an premieres is live music\, with newly recorded scores for D. W. Griffith
 ’s Way Down East (1920) and John Ford’s 3 Bad Men (1926).
