“Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” Well, it depends. Is objectification “fair”? Isn’t rebellion more alive? Must beauty mean symmetry? What is more important: flights of imagination or the needs of the body? The exhibition at MoMu looks at recent fashion through the prism of these questions, and presents the work of artists such as Cindy Sherman, Ed Atkins, Genesis Belanger, Hans Bellmer and Genieve Figgis, in dialogue with creations by designers such as Comme des Garçons, Simone Rocha, Walter Van Beirendonck and Viktor & Rolf. Expect a “fashion show” that captures our refracted contemporary culture. —L.J.
