“It’s a known thing that all over the country, many people who have died were living in nursing homes,” says artist Michelangelo Lovelace. “So, it’s something we can all think about.” Having worked as a nurse’s aide for over 30 years, Lovelace knows a thing or two about the hardships of health-care workers and the failures of the health-care system. In this series, he captures many characters from that world in colorful, vibrant drawings. This online exhibition was organized with input from the artist John Ahearn, who comments on five of the drawings, and also interviews Lovelace. —E.C.
