DESCRIPTION:Oct 1-30\, 2026\nMarjorie Jewel Moss studied in Paris under Fer
nand Léger and Amédée Ozenfant\, but with the onset of W.W. II\, she mo
ved to Cornwall and settled in the small village of Lamorna. For the rest
of her life\, Moss worked on Constructivist paintings and Neoplastic sculp
tures\, approaching their geometries with mathematical precision. “We’
d see her pacing up and down\, pacing\, pacing\,” recalled a neighbor wh
o peered into her studio. “And then she would draw a straight line. Her
work was all straight lines and cubes. Then she’d pace up and down again
and then—a square would be drawn.” Moss died in 1958. This exhibition
brings together rarely seen paintings and works on paper from private col
lections. Artworks by contemporaries such as Max Bill\, Piet Mondrian\, an
d Jean Gorin are also in the show.
