DESCRIPTION:Jun 4 - Sep 6\, 2026\nMarilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Morte
nson on June 1\, 1926\, and spent the next 36 years becoming the most phot
ographed woman in the world—a process she understood\, controlled\, and
was ultimately consumed by. Marking the centenary of her birth\, this exhi
bition assembles the work of more than 20 photographers—among them\, Cec
il Beaton\, Eve Arnold\, Richard Avedon\, Philippe Halsman\, and Milton Gr
eene—as well as paintings and prints by Andy Warhol\, Pauline Boty\, and
Marlene Dumas. It begins with Monroe’s earliest pinups and ends with th
e photography session that was her last—shot by Allan Grant at her Brent
wood home the day before she died. Of the 432 images taken that afternoon\
, only eight were published at the time.
