DESCRIPTION:Apr 25 - Jun 27\, 2026\nChange is afoot at Gagosian’s New Yor
k headquarters. After spending over 35 years at 980 Madison Avenue\, the g
allery moves to a new location on the ground floor. To christen the space\
, an inaugural exhibition centers on the pioneering Marcel Duchamp. While
many works from the Dadaist master have been lost or destroyed\, the exhib
ition pulls together the 1964 readymades Duchamp created with the Italian
gallerist Arturo Schwarz. The works are important\, and include Roue de bi
cyclette—the only example that’s not in the collection of a major inst
itution—and\, of course\, Fountain. While the works are re-creations\, t
hey speak to Duchamp’s legacy\, the way he launched art into the concept
ual realm. “It all started with Duchamp\,” says Larry Gagosian. The ex
hibition runs concurrently with the first career retrospective of the arti
 st since 1973 at MoMA.
