DESCRIPTION:Apr 23 - May 23\, 2026\nCan art be gentle yet unsettling? The S
wedish artist Mamma Andersson\, now 64\, strikes that balance. “You can
only draw from your own well\,” she has said. “It never runs dry.” A
ndersson was born in Luleå\, Sweden\, near the polar circle\, and her “
well” is the sparse landscape of her hometown. It frequently appears in
her work\, in addition to bourgeois interiors and theater sets that recall
the world of 19th-century Romanticism. These scenes are layered and often
meticulously composed\; they can also turn eerie and off-putting. Anderss
on’s sixth solo exhibition at David Zwirner Paris features drawings and
prints from a new body of work\, created in Paris at Atelier René Tazé.
