Naomi Campbell, Johnny Depp, and Diane Von Furstenberg were there to celebrate the completion of Qatar’s new National Museum. Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, who took inspiration from the “desert rose”—naturally forming crystal clusters of gypsum and sand—the museum is stunningly biomorphic. Its first exhibition looks at the evolution of Doha, Qatar’s capital city, through 70 years of archival photographs, plans, and films. —J.V.
