If someone from the 19th or even 20th century were to see us today, they’d be confused. What are those flat things we’re always playing with? Why do we talk to ourselves while walking down the street? These 21st-century behavioral changes are the premise for Konstantin Grcic’s exhibition. The industrial designer has created an immersive environment where his chairs, tables, clothes racks, and wastepaper baskets interact with the latest objects of the present day. Grcic rose to prominence in the 1990s. His 2004 “Chair_ONE” is now a design classic. This exhibition sees the transformative meeting of Grcic’s designs with the newest inventions of the 2020s. —E.C.
