DESCRIPTION:Nov 5 - Dec 19\, 2026\nWater is so primary in our lives that we
forget to look at it\, unless we’re taking in a broad expanse of it—l
ake\, river\, tide. And then there is the droplet\, defined as “a small
column of liquid\, bounded completely or almost completely by free surface
s.” So now we’re talking physics. The Korean émigré painter Kim Tsch
ang-Yeul (1929–2021)\, over a period of five decades\, focused his work
on drops of water\, their translucence\, transience\, beauty. In a letter
to the critic Lee Yil\, he wrote “The act of painting waterdrops is to d
issolve everything into an act of transparency\, returning to nothingness
…” Lacking ego\, these globes of water hold soul-quenching spiritualit
 y. This exhibition presents works from the 1980s through the 2010s.
