DESCRIPTION:Oct 1-31\, 2026\nDrawing from a longtime love for yoga and medi
tation\, Katy Ferrarone’s paintings are serene\, crafted around the conc
ept of mindfulness. “These images are essentially maps of what my mind i
s experiencing at the present moment\,” Ferrarone says. “Each work is
a direct expression of staying still and the awareness of emotions during
the art-making process.” Circles and squares represent certain thoughts
that expand with complexity. The artist’s latest works surface from the
personal and social transitions that come with middle age—birth\, death\
, and the oscillating roles of being a mother and a daughter. In paintings
both concentrated and radiating\, Ferrarone explores the dual nature of g
rief and gratitude\, feelings that can coexist in moments of familial frac
 ture.
