It was a shocking article in The New York Times that led the conceptual artist Jennifer Bolande to create a series that ruminates on news, history, and destruction. How do the flat images in newspapers inhabit our layers of consciousness? Bolande’s work in this virtual show addresses these questions. —E.C.
