“Caste is the bones, race the skin.” The newly published Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, by the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Isabel Wilkerson (The Warmth of Other Suns), explores a uniquely American brand of perpetual injustice by framing racism as a caste system. Joining Wilkerson to discuss Caste is the children’s book author Jacqueline Woodson (Brown Girl Dreaming, winner of a National Book Award), a strong, emotional voice on the issue of race. The two promise an enlightening talk. —J.V.
