In the third century A.D., during the reign of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius Antonino Bassiano—known as Emperor Caracalla—the ornate Baths of Caracalla were completed. The second largest of the Imperial Roman Baths, the Terme di Caracalla are opening a newly renovated area, never before seen by the public. This inauguration features the work of the Italian installation artist Fabrizio Plessi, who is known for adapting his art to its surroundings. For decades, it just so happens, he has also plumbed the theme of water. —J.V.
