Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World

Premiering April 22 on PBS / Film & TV

Within minutes of this documentary series you can tell that Greta Thunberg hates the camera. But it’s the price the now 18-year-old climate activist must pay to spread awareness and encourage positive change. The three-parter, which premieres on Earth Day, follows Thunberg on a carbon-neutral trip around the world (or the parts still reachable despite coronavirus restrictions). Consider it a Planet Earth focused more on nature than its creatures. Animals do get some screen time, though—from the pine beetles of Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada, to the reindeer of a Sámi tribe in Jokkmokk, Sweden—and so does David Attenborough, who Thunberg meets in Episode Two. —J.V.
