 row. For an exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of the Gordon Parks Fo
 undation\, Jack Shainman Gallery asked for reflections from people who kne
 w these photographs and their subjects firsthand. The families of Muhammad
  Ali and Malcolm X have contributed personal reflections\, while Kate Clar
 k Harris recalls Parks photographing her parents as they conducted their l
 andmark doll tests in 1947\, exposing the psychological effects of segrega
 tion on Black children. Cora Taylor\, pictured in At Segregated Drinking F
 ountain\, Mobile\, Alabama (1956)\, remembers Parks arriving and that she 
 wondered if she could trust him. Kathleen Cleaver looks back on her years 
 in Algerian exile with her husband\, Eldridge\, whom Parks photographed in
  1970. Ava DuVernay\, Anderson Cooper\, Alice Walker\, and Ambassador Andr
 ew Young are among the other contributors.
