DESCRIPTION:Sep 11\, 2026 - Jan 3\, 2027\nA lesser known aspect of Georgia
O’Keeffe’s varied practice is the subject of this exhibition in Detroi
 t. Widely recognized for her paintings of colossal flowers and desert land
scapes\, O’Keeffe also painted the towering skyscrapers of New York City
and adobe structures found in the Southwest. Bringing together approximat
ely 35 works from the 1920s to the 1960s\, “Georgia O’Keeffe: Architec
ture” showcases the artist’s singular approach to the built environmen
 t. From her early years living at the Shelton Hotel\, where she captured t
he vertical drama of the Manhattan skyline\, to her later abstractions of
architectural forms\, this exhibition reframes O’Keeffe as both a chroni
cler and interpreter of modern architecture.
