 Deutschbaselitz\, Baselitz grew up among ruin and political disorder. He p
 roduced distorted and often grotesque figures\, depicted upside down to de
 tach them from easy reading\, easy meaning. After an acclaimed career\, Ba
 selitz died on April 30\, at 88. White Cube brings together 30 final paint
 ings—an ode to his wife\, Elke Kretzschmar\, and the bookend of a 60-yea
 r career.
