“I paint my reality,” Frida Kahlo said. And the reality was this: Kahlo had one face but many facets. She was an independent feminist, a political activist, a colorful figure, a wife, a woman of affairs, and an often bed-bound invalid. And she was a painter. In a collaboration that involves cultural institutions from around the world, Google displays videos, diary entries, essays, and, of course, some of Kahlo’s most famous works. It’s one of the most comprehensive exhibitions on the artist to date. —E.C.
