The Time-Life series, “Mysteries of the Unknown,” published between 1987 and 1991, consisted of 33 volumes, each book covering a different form of paranormal activity: UFOs, dreams, psychic powers, hauntings, mysterious creatures, and much more. Similarly, the seven paintings in Hernan Bas’s new exhibition “TIME LIFE” take inspiration from the blurred boundaries between the normal and the paranormal. Interweaving different oddities with mundane moments, Bas explores that strange transition—youth into adulthood. Meanwhile, this online offering explores his creation of “TIME LIFE.” —E.C.
