DESCRIPTION:Jun 4 - Aug 1\, 2026\nThe director David Lynch was eloquent abo
ut his love affair with Los Angeles. “Even with smog\, there’s somethi
ng about that light that’s not harsh\, but bright and smooth\,” he wro
te in his book Catching the Big Fish. “It fills me with the feeling that
all possibilities are available.” Others shared that sentiment. In the
1960s and 70s\, a group of artists consolidated a movement at the intersec
tion of science\, art\, and technology—they called it “Light and Space
.” A new exhibition presents their 21st-century successors: L.A. artists
dedicated to catching the city’s humble beauty\, neighborhoods\, and ma
gic hour. Featured artists include Catherine Opie and Noah Davis\, but all
are in love with the city.
