DESCRIPTION:Apr 11 - Aug 2\, 2026\n“To see is to know\,” Bruce Katsiff
has said. “To photograph is to learn.” During his 60-year career\, Kat
siff has been fascinated with what is within the human body. Born in Phila
delphia to a butcher and a seamstress\, he was drawn to scenes of death an
d decay that most found uncomfortable. Katsiff rejected the notion of taki
ng “pretty pictures”\; instead photographed challenging material such
as animal carcasses. In 1989\, he became the director of the Michener Art
 Museum\, in Bucks County\, Pennsylvania\, a position he held until 2012. K
atsiff’s latest exhibition\, which traces the entirety of his career\, i
s a homecoming. Over 60 photographs from five bodies of work go up at the
 museum he helped found.
