DESCRIPTION:Oct 25\, 2026 - Feb 27\, 2027\nWhen Constantin Brancusi first s
aw the New York skyline in 1926\, he said\, “Why\, it is my studio. All
these blocks\, all these shapes to be shifted and juggled with\, as the ex
periment grows and changes.” Back in Paris\, Brancusi spent four decades
working from his studio on Impasse Ronsin\, which he filled with sculptur
 es\, photographs\, furniture\, pedestals\, and tools. He left everything t
o France when he died in 1957\, and the studio became part of the Centre P
ompidou’s collection. Now\, with the Pompidou closed for renovations\, m
any of its Brancusis will be at MoMA for the largest New York exhibition o
n the artist in decades. They join works from MoMA’s own collection\, in
cluding Bird in Space\, the sculpture a U.S. customs agent once refused to
  recognize as art.
