Everyone loves actor Bill Nighy—his ironic manner, his lanky walk, and his distinctive way of imbuing even the most serious subjects with humor. So he surprises us by employing these traits in this short, fun virtual-tour video of the Courtauld Galleries, famous for Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works. Playing audio guide, Nighy takes us to Degas’s box at the opera, Modigliani’s eccentric nudes, and Manet’s bold A Bar at the Folies-Bergère. Pacing through its hallowed halls, the actor tells us why he is addicted to visiting this museum, which he calls “one of the most beautiful and peaceful buildings in the city.” —E.C.
