The 15th-century Florentine sculptor Bertoldo di Giovanni had quite the résumé: he studied under Donatello, went on to teach Michelangelo, and enjoyed the patronage of Lorenzo de’ Medici. And yet, only now is di Giovanni receiving his first ever exhibition. Featuring his entire surviving output—more than 20 statues, medals, and reliefs—the Frick positions di Giovanni as central to the Italian art and politics of his time. —J.V.
