When it comes to space, what is finite? What is infinite? And where does the human body fit in? These are some of the questions explored by the sculptures of Antony Gormley. Horizon Field Singapore, Gormley’s 2021 commission for the mesmerizing Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Gallery, presents viewers with a monumental matrix of aluminum rings—colliding planes of air—which they are invited to walk through. The effect? A sense of anxiety mixed with intrigue. The show includes three earlier sculptures—Close V, Sense, and Ferment. Together these works span four decades of Gormley’s career. —E.C.
