Soulpepper Theatre Company, one of Toronto’s foremost arts organizations, has bounced back after a 2018 leadership crisis that became Canadian theater’s #MeToo moment. Soulpepper is now led by the dynamic African-Canadian Weyni Mengesha, whose first production as artistic director is Tennessee Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire. The highly regarded Canadian actors Amy Rutherford and Mac Fyfe star as Blanche DuBois and Stanley Kowalski. —K.F.
