Galleria Continua first broke ground in San Gimignano, Italy, a town suffused with local history yet far from urban centers—a less than ideal location for an international contemporary-art gallery. But the village quickly became a top destination for art lovers. Inspired by that success, Continua opened galleries in other unexpected locales: first in the French countryside and then in Beijing, where it was the city’s only foreign gallery with an international artist list. To celebrate Continua’s 15th year in China, the gallery has re-invited an artist for each of its years in Beijing. Highlights include Ai WeiWei, Anish Kapoor, and Michelangelo Pistoletto. —C.J.F.
